can now produce a product with a longer lasting finish
coat that is corrosion resistant due to the strong, adhesive
bond that forms during the encasement-type process.
An extra bonus is the environmentally friendly powder
(95% recyclable residue) that emits "0" VOC's
into the environment.
The powder is applied in excess of 3mils thick and the
parts are then cured in a baking oven at an average cure
temperature of 400°F. This process gives a longer
lasting, more durable finish because of a much stronger
adhesion between the powder and the steel.
TEST
RESULTS
When
shotblasted samples were subjected to a continuous salt
spray the results were as follows:
